Description
Martin Park is a nonprofit created by several people from the Well, the Fresno First Presbyterian Church and most importantly, Oscar and Julie Rodriguez. Martin Park is a unusual property that sits inside of the heart of the Lowell Neighborhood just north of Downtown Fresno. Martin Park serves as a safe place for kids and families where they can come and play, receiving tutoring, food, clothing and otherwise have their daily needs met. Most importantly, it is a place for discipleship. You can learn about Martin Park by going here: https://vimeo.com/207521511
One of the goals for Martin Park is to turn it into one of the best parks in the City. We have task list that is a mile long associated with fixing and improving the property. For Serve Fresno our goal is to complete as many tasks as possible. This will include items such as room remolding, painting, cleaning, refinishing furniture, install drapes and curtains, general yard maintenance, fixing miscellaneous items around the property, addressing construction needs and much more. We hope Serve Fresno not only provides you an opportunity to serve but also to learn about the special Mission of Martin Park.
Possibly most important, at 4:00 pm on Sunday April 2nd, we will have a dinner gathering at Martin Park for the people that served as well as community members. We will conclude our serve week with a special announcement about the property.
